Just found this site today. Bought my Insight EX about 6 weeks ago and LOVE the car. Temps above 50 I get 50 plus MPG. Cold weather below 30 in low 40's. Guess that is normal. I bought a spare tire and jack at a local junk yard since I didn't want to travel without one. Roadside assistance doesn't help if the tire is destroyed and it's late in the middle of nowhere. Anyone else out that that went that route.

Welcome!

Yep! I bought a 2016-18 Civic spare, tools, jack and foam holder. All fit the Insight perfectly. Your MPG is right about where everyone else's is in this weather. I can't wait for summer temps and summer gas!

Welcome to the forum @FRR!

Several of us are fans of having the spare tire, and as you found yourself and posted, the cost effective way to get an Insight spare is to source from a junkyard 2016-2019 Civic spare kit. The $85 price you got is terrific! Honda eliminated the part numbers for the "fully assembled" Insight temporary tire kit, but does sells individual components (at much higher total cost).

While the Civic spare components fit perfectly in the Insight space, a few of us opted to buy the Insight-specific foam insert for tool storage. The Insight foam insert eliminates the funnel spot (not needed since Insight isn't capless) and adds a holding spot for the 12-V battery removal tool.

Congrats on your Clarity and welcome to the community. Fuelly is a great resource to log your mpg and keep track of what other owners are averaging.
