Car and Driver has posted a 14,000 mile update. Interestingly, they noted the same lumpy vibration at idle when first starting that some have noticed in here and said they would mention it to the techs the next time they went in for service. Also a bit concerning is the $120 “recalibration” charge after needing the windshield replaced due to cracks. I knew the windshield would be more expensive then normal but this extra charge sucks. Otherwise, the car stayed reliable.

The low mileage is concerning though. I wonder how fast they're driving it on the highway.

Also definitely not looking forward to paying for upkeep on these driver's aid nannies. I wish the whole package was a $1k option that could be dropped from the base price of the cars.

After checking out the comment section for the long term Insight review from car/driver. It sort of makes sense that they got low mpg even though it's a Touring in Michigan with snow tires. Commenters stated that the editors that drive the fleet cars don't pay for gas and probably drive more aggressive than your average hybrid owner. It's even mentioned in the review, the Insight is the least powerful car, in the long term fleet. Not surprising when the fleet is filled with cars like Porsche, Mustang, Stinger, F150 Raptor.

These driver's aid will become mandatory by 2022(like how the backup camera is mandatory starting last year). Honda decided to be ahead of the curve and having it standard in more models sort of pushes the overall cost down during production.
