As starting MSRP of $22,930, the 2019 Insight is rated #1 compact vehicle by Car Connection - alongside the ($37,400) 2019 Audi A4 and ($40,250) 2019 BMW 3-series.

It's terrific that the Insight is getting credit alongside more premium brands and models. The Insight's fuel economy and safety features pull it into the top of this list.

Oddly (?) - Car Connection's rating of the 2020 Insight is a 6.8, versus their 7.0 rating for the 2019 Insight. The rating declined in the scoring area of "features," with the main complaint being that the LX trim is insufficient.

Seems odd that the same car decreased in value, but perhaps this also reflects that expectations get higher each year. Build quality was also called out in the 2020 review, yet that score was unchanged from 2019. The overall rank they assigned in the compact car category also decreased, but still in the top 5.

OVERALL.......... 2020 = 6.8 | 2019 = 7.0
Styling............. 2020 = 7.0 | 2019 = 7.0
Performance..... 2020 = 5.0 | 2019 = 5.0
Comfort/Quality 2020 = 6.0 | 2019 = 6.0
Safety............. 2020 = 9.0 | 2019 = 9.0
Features.......... 2020 = 6.0 | 2019 = 7.0
Fuel Economy.... 2020 = 8.0 | 2019 = 8.0

In any respect, the Insight is a tick slower than other cars on the road, roughly in line with other affordable hybrids such as the Toyota Prius. Our informal testing pegged 0-60 mph acceleration around 10 seconds, but 0-30 mph is a little more impressive around town than that figure would indicate.
Makes me wonder if they actually drove the Insight. The pictures all look like Honda media stock photos too. A simple video of the speedometer of both cars while flooring it from a stop would prove what you can feel if you've driven Prius, Ioniq and Insight for any length of time: Insight's acceleration, handling and braking are superior.
