YouTube Video from Engineering Explained

An interesting video on the effect of Wheel and Tire size on MPG. I never realized the wheel size could make this much difference.

I'm guessing the same concept hold true for gas or hybrid vehicle vs electric?

Makes it seem like the investment in a LRR tire worth it over the lifespan of the tire

I didn’t watch the video but I’m wondering how much weight has an effect on mpg as well. I have my eye on this wheel that’s 16.5 pounds, according to the website selling it, which I don’t know is true or not.I’ll have to verify but that’s a significant reduction from the 16 inch OEM weight.

I’m just waiting for the Black Friday sales at this point.

Nice video
I minus size my winter tires, using narrower widths, and light weight alloy rims.
He is right on with his math, the big rims cost more to buy, more expensive tires, less fuel efficiency and poorer performance in the winter!

Yes yes yes... but god the 17' wheels look good. At the end of the day with this pandemic I'm looking more at my car than I'm driving it 😂
