Did they need to adjust your valves when you hit the 100k mark? I am asking because I just hit 100k a few weeks back.. I am pushing off the transmission change out because I want to do that on my own - but I am not one to take apart the valve cover and measure valve clearances.I’m barely pushing 216k and will change out spark plugs again soon..I’m taking it to same independent Japanese auto specialists place I took it to last time I did spark plugs and they will check to see for free if I need a valve adjustment while changing spark plugs..my guess is I won’t need a valve adjustment, but who knows?
Other than that, I’m really enjoying driving one of the most reliable cars out there..
no valve adjustment needed at 100k..but you also have to take into consideration the age of the car..when I hit 100k, my car was very young age wise..Did they need to adjust your valves when you hit the 100k mark? Well, even though mine is 3 years old - I don't think it needs one.. It sounds the same as when I bought it with 8 miles on it.. also getting great mileage out of it.. On top of that - I had the service done to my last hybrid which was the horrible 2008 Civic hybrid and in the end they told me nothing was out of spec on that one and it was 6 years old at that point.no valve adjustment needed at 100k..but you also have to take into consideration the age of the car..when I hit 100k, my car was very young age wise..
I changed that out at 151k. 3 year free replacement with unlimited miles .. not sure if I will still be doing rideshare next year so my miles probably won’t be going up fast..@Insightfu1 I'm not sure if I ever ask you this but I'm curious... Are you still using the original 12v AGM battery?![]()
Did it quit on you at 151k?I changed that out at 151k. 3 year free replacement with unlimited miles .. not sure if I will still be doing rideshare next year so my miles probably won’t be going up fast..
no.. I get my oil change at dealer every 10k miles with free multipoint inspection. and they detected a “needs replacement” on their device.. I asked if I could just recharge it with my at home charger but they said it couldn’t according to their test (not sure how true that was), but I decided to replace it then and there.I changed that out at 151k. 3 year free replacement with unlimited miles .. not sure if I will still be doing rideshare next year so my miles probably won’t be going up fast..
I’m getting my car picked up soon but just found out that I don’t need a valve adjustment as expected.I’m barely pushing 216k and will change out spark plugs again soon..I’m taking it to same independent Japanese auto specialists place I took it to last time I did spark plugs and they will check to see for free if I need a valve adjustment while changing spark plugs..my guess is I won’t need a valve adjustment, but who knows?

Rubber hoses tend to wear more from age or oil saturation from oil leaking on to them than mileage. If they don’t look like they are swollen or cracked, wait till 300k.I just got my oil changed at the dealer today and I asked about the radiator hoses and Honda’s recommendation is 10 year/120-150k miles. It’s a big job and it’s 1k at dealer but I’m sure much cheaper at independent shop, which I most likely will take it to for that.
I’m debating if I should just wait till around 300K to replace it or do it now since I’m at 219K.
Good to know.. the hoses themselves are cheap but is the labor that is expensive.Rubber hoses tend to wear more from age or oil saturation from oil leaking on to them than mileage. If they don’t look like they are swollen or cracked, wait till 300k.
Scrap that. My next coolant change is at 280 K, so I’ll probably do it then.I was going to change out my coolant next week but just found out from the independent shop that the labor to change out the upper and lower radiator hose is only $262 (huge difference compared to dealer) and they won’t charge me to replace the coolant since they have to bleed out the system. I’m going to go ahead and do it since I save on changing out the coolant and I get my hoses changed out for pretty cheap.
I did not find where you described this problem. Tell me what sound bothers you and when does it appear?I’m still getting this noise from front left after changing out the axle. Looks like the tech might’ve been wrong in his diagnosis. I’m going to take it to a shop that identified and fixed a problem I had with a sound in same area on my s2k and was the only shop to figure it out. It’s like a clicking sound.
looks like my car has held up without any mechanical issues up into this point at 220k.
Somewhere way back in this thread I believe, I said I changed out the left front axle because of a noise. Come to think of it, it’s more of a rattling noise and it doesn’t bother me too much but it’s there.I did not find where you described this problem.
