I am not familiar with the Australian car market, but switching to non-negotiable price sounds very risky if it were in the US.
Most US car buyers want a "great deal" despite the troublesome process reaching one. Non-negotiable business model frequently succeed with brand exclusivity.

I wonder why Australians aren't as attracted to Honda vehicles as other countries. Honda Australia's approach to drop dealerships and car models instead of further marketing could mean they are having some financial issues.

It looks like Honda has struggled to make Australia's top 10 car brands for more than 5 years... but Toyota, Mazda, and Hyundai are doing well. (Holden is an Australian domestic brand, as an arm of GM; but even they just announced exiting from the country.)

And even when their sales rank increased from 10th to 9th, their yearly sales volume in Australia is less than half their monthly sales volume in the US.
