I haven't seen 2019 Insight-specific information yet (and Honda 'actual' manufacturing detail is hard to come by)...
- This older article mentions average Honda production time at 32.5 hours in 2007: https://itstillruns.com/long-build-car-start-finish-7811332.html
- Toyota is a manufacturing benchmark for efficient production; this 'Toyota for Kids' site mentions ~18 hours total to stamp, weld, paint, assemble and inspect: https://www.toyota.co.jp/en/kids/faq/b/01/06/

The production time is the cumulative 'shortest possible' time to assemble a car, but in reality the steps are sequenced over several days rather than from start to finish. If sequencing wasn't done, a hiccup in one part of assembly would have a cascading effect on other aspects of assembly. From others who have ordered Hondas from the production line, I've heard this sequenced timeline is 9-14 days from start-of-production to being able to get a VIN, assuming that once a VIN is assigned the car is assembled and "exists."

After production, transport from the manufacturing site to a distribution center then a dealership can be up to 2-3 weeks, depending on distance. This would put estimated total time from start-of-production to dealer delivery at ~4-5 weeks.

I gathered some of this info while shopping for cars, as I was getting detail from dealers in early September on when their last 2018 Civics and first 2019 Civics would be built... and yet after all of my data-gathering, I ended up buying the 2019 Insight instead!

My son asked the question...how long does it take to build a 2019 Insight? From start to finish. Anyone know?
We don't provide model- specific information on how long it takes to produce a vehicle, but I can tell you that at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, it takes approximately two shifts -- or 16 hours -- to produce a vehicle. This is from the start of welding through the paint process (which includes curing time) and through assembly of the vehicle into a finished product. Unfortunately, I cannot specify how long it takes to produce a hybrid vehicle. Though production of hybrid vehicles involves some different processes, the production time would be similar to other vehicles. https://www.greenhybrid.com/forums/...ong-takes-honda-build-honda-car-vehicle-5525/
^This guy asked Honda Marysville Ohio and received the above response. This was posted back in 2006 so I would assume it is probably faster than 16 hours with all the robots now.

Here's a video of the 10th generation accord being manufactured if you're interested.

Honda has spent something like $61 million retooling various plants for Insight production, so I would imagine the process has been very streamlined since the last generation. They've also brought a lot of sub-assembly's in house which will reduce the turn around time.

Hey, thanks for the great information everyone. That video on the Accord production was amazing! I had no idea so many robots were involved or how fast they could build. My son's going to love watching that.

Cheers.
