What is the exact psi recommended then for increased mileage?

I've been running 40psi in both my '19 and '21 Insights. Tire wear has been normal with no ill effects. I'd mention increased tire pressures are not "recommended," as any deviation from normal can incur issues. For instance, higher pressures could affect handling and can make tires more vulnerable to blowout on pothole infested roads. Increasing pressures over manufacturer recommendations is done at your own risk. </legalstuff>

What is the exact psi recommended then for increased mileage?

For the gen 3 Insight I run:
40 psi front 39 rear. Measured first thing in the morning before driving the car, and without morning sunshine on the tire, warming them up and slightly increasing pressure.

I checked tire pressures this morning. All 4 were a pound low.

My last check was 3 weeks ago when I set them as above in an outside temperature of 48 degrees. Last night we had a low of 33. So as in the past as the temperature goes down so does the tire pressure measured first thing in the morning. In spring the reverse happens, tire pressures may inch up, but tend to remain steady over 6 - 8 week period as the overnight temperatures increase. FYI

I use a small hand held, lithium battery powered, Slime brand air pump, that I bought from an auto parts store for around $50.

This feature is very helpful, and Google is actually working on releasing routes for different car types, something that hasarad complained about it lacking in the thread you mentioned

I think this feature finally went live last week for iOS. I can change my engine type to Hybrid now. 🙌
