So I got a very special deal on this and went ahead with it. I opted for their XT version which is the most rugged leather and will withstand liquid, scuffs, pets, etc. The only problem is the color is limited otherwise i probably would’ve went with blue and white but this will do. Totally reupholstered; their not seat covers.

Black and red theme with red stitching. Door inserts in red and all arm rest cloth in black. The console got black with red stitching.

My car will eventually be a show car after I wrap it.

That looks nice but how long was the car out of commission for them to do all that work ?
What's the knob on the dash next to the fuel door button?
Did you do the reupholstering yourself, or did you have a shop do it? How "spendy" was the whole job including materials?

i dropped it off at 9am and got it back at 5:30pm.

that knob is to control my aftermarket sub.. see my jl audio sub install thread ..

the package included material and labor to install through Katzkin at one of their approved installers. it was pricey but I got a really good deal I doubt anyone else can get..

I negotiated mine into price of my new Insight in 2019. If i had to pay for it, would have been $1200 installed. I recently called same shop to install in a Civic sedan, they quoted around $1400, depending on options (2-tone color, offset stitch color, etc.). For Insight, I went with a more subtle 2-tone, with offset stitch color to match the dash stitching. Interestingly, they cannot cover back doors because there is already hard plastic on them, so i tried to do front doors in similar color tone because I didn't want terribly mismatched front and rear doors (but they do cover the pull handle part in rear). If in D/FW area, call Southside Trim by the airport. My guess is most authorized Katzkin installers are about same price. Hope that helps if anyone wants this upgrade! I really didn't like the factory cloth..

Not to put down your setup, but I thought that if I was going to re-do my whole interior, mine as well get something flashy.

My analogy is if you are getting pizza, why top it with a bunch of vegetables? Just go meat lovers.

I prefer the more subtle colors. Yours is bold and I'm glad you liked the way it turned out. To each their own :cool:
I thought about doing that (the std leather had many color options), but my insights are (pun intended😁):
1) I'm too old to be flashy (and too old to eat all meat pizza too...LOL)
2) I was afraid I would get tired of looking at a flashier combo of colors after a year - yours does look great!
3) I didn't want to have a tough time selling the car later on because of a non-stock looking interior as not everyone would like it - but that could be true of my current choice.
4) My main goal was to get rid of the cloth.
Fair enough.. we all have different uses for our Insights and this is my project car/show car.

Im tempted to remove my dark tint to show off my interior but it’s a high quality ceramic which was pricey so I’m keeping it. But I do rideshare so I can impress the passengers.
