Does anyone have an idea as to the purpose of this hook on the interior backside of the B-pillars? I thought it would be to hang clothes, but we have a hook for that above the windows. Plus,this hook is too small (narrow) to hold anything of any real weight.

They’re supposed to be coat hooks. They position isnt very conducive to using them IMHO.

With their size and position they probably wont be useful for holding anything other than a hat.

They're coat/hanger hooks. In addition to the one in your pictures, there's an additional one under the left rear grab handle.

I often store things on the drivers side rear seat on my daily drive, and could see myself (and passenger) using the door pillar hooks to quickly hang jackets before a long drive. The other hook behind the grab handle seems more practical for hangers (e.g. dry cleaning?). That the extra hook is on the drivers side rear seems intentionally placed for the driver to access before/after a drive.

@ddemtra posted a picture on how it looks in use. The pillar hooks work best for direct hanging, rather than with hanger.
