Bought my 2019 Insight EX in Cosmic Blue in April 2019 after about 6 months of research between the Insight, Civic, Accord, and Camry. My last and only car was my car from high school- a 2002 Toyota Camry with over 182k miles on it. Loved the car but when the AC broke last summer I knew I couldn't go another summer with it. Found this forum about 2 months ago which really convinced me to go the Insight route as a lot of the questions/hesitations I had with the car were brought up in topics and answered so thanks to everyone for their posts. Still a work in progress trying to learn the best way to drive in different modes but it's definitely been fun to drive so far!

I did pretty much the same thing. Done my research for 6 months on various cars. After deciding on the Insight, I googled for insight  on what the ownership experience was like, and found this forum 2 months before purchasing. See you around the forum and congrats on your new car!

I went four years without a/c before I got rid of my '99 Civic. It was a great car, but after 280K miles, it was time. My '06 Odyssey has been without a/c for four years as well. It's an $82 part and a weekend to put it in, so I'm still avoiding it.

I went to the dealer to buy a Civic but settled on the Insight after driving both. I have no regrets. I went ten years without car payments, so I can't complain. I expect to have the Insight at least ten years.

Welcome to the forum! Which aspects of the Insight sold you the most? Also interested in what pushed you toward Honda models over the Camry? I've been a longtime Honda owner, so I really only considered Honda models myself...

Thanks! Honestly it was the technology on the inside and the look from the outside, I didn't even look at the mileage or notice it was a hybrid at first. I was messing around on Honda Auto's website looking at specs of the Civics and 2018 Accords when I stumbled across the Insight which I had never heard of the previous generations before. I looked at the Camry since I had my other one so long but after researching and test driving I felt that Honda's had more tech inside that I liked and that was a big aspect for me as I was coming from a car with a cassette player.
