Hi guys,

Last week I traded in my Prius C to get a White Touring Insight. The Prius was never supposed to be our family car (supposed to be a commuter car just for me) but with the MPG driving my wife's car just didn't make sense. So I taked to my dad (Honda salesman) about checking out the insight. The main drives was that it was bigger and punchier than the Prius, I have a highway I have to make a left turn on to most every day and in a prius that can be a scary turn.

Anyway long story short I'm loving the car so far and even got some parking sensors put in because it BARELY fits in my garage. Do any of you use the Honda Link service? do you find it worth the money?

I have the EX so I'm not able to try out the subscription features but Touring owners are given complementary trials to test them out. 1 year of security, 3 months of remote & concierge.

Oh yeah, I'm on the trial at the moment. And I'm using it but I'm still in the "honeymoon" phase. I was wondering about people who've had it a bit longer.

Welcome to the forum! There are a couple user perspectives toward the bottom of this thread on HondaLink - https://www.gen3insight.com/forum/2...-user-interface/280-hondalink-enrollment.html

There are more features available for Touring owners (at an ongoing fee) than for other trims. I own an EX and don't find myself missing/lacking the HondaLink features offered for the Touring trim. I think you'll need to decide how useful the features are for the price of ~$10/month.

I'm also intrigued that your dad is a Honda salesman. Have you owned Hondas prior to the Prius? Is there a 'family discount' benefit in buying your Insight? And can your dad give us any perspective to this ongoing question of "why isn't Honda promoting the Insight?" - https://www.gen3insight.com/forum/5...isnt-honda-promoting-insight-4.html#post21700

I don't believe I got a discount other than him finding out that they just got the car in. I did get a discount on the parking sensor installation but I think the location I went do was expensive to start. Originally it was 1700 and I got it knocked down to ~1300. Originally I was hearing that it would be more of a 1200-1400 installation. so my "discount" made it be right where I estimated it would be before I went in. Oh, they did also do a clearcoat for free if I got the warranty (but I was going to get that anyway as I keep my cars for a long time).

The lack of promotion on the insight is a good question. When I went into the dealership you wouldn't have even know it was there if you didn't ask. There was no signage or anything, I could barely tell the difference between it and the accord and civic cousins. I'll ask and update if I get some info.
