Well after much debate, I decided on a silver Insight LX. I waited for about 8 days for it to come in and jumped when it showed up. I was apprehensive as this was my first hybrid purchase, but felt that Honda should have it figured out fairly well by now. I was a bit apprehensive as most articles I read supported hybrids being for traffic and in town, but thought the offset may help for the little I am sitting in traffic. Nonethelless, I hope it gets better than my 2016 corolla commuter at 33 mpg; If I get 44 mpg's I'd be stoked. My daily commute is 74 miles one way for a total of 148/ day, so we will see how it goes. For all the Southern California people out there, I drive from the Temecula area to San Diego every day.

For all of those comparing the insight to the Accord Hybrid, I did the same. I also compared them to the 1.5T in the Civic Hatch as well as the 2.0 in the Civic Sedan. When it all came down to it I was stuck between the Accord and the Insight when I remembered that the main reason I wanted the hybrid was to save gas, not have more performance. As a result, I landed the insight and will save more gas and ultimately a few grand as well. Hope this helps. Thanks for having me. Jay

You get better mileage in traffic and city streets. I get 55-65 in traffic and city. Freeway speeds about 45-50. Insight tank is the same size as my Honda FIT and the Insight takes twice as long to need a fill up.

Congrats on the new Insight Jay and welcome to the forum! I think the fact that a lot of people are comparing this to the Accord, just goes to show how far Honda has come with the styling of their hybrid options.
