Hey everyone,

I got my car a few weeks ago and hit my first 1000 miles and Love it. Its an Aegean Blue EX and love the color, I suggest anyone to get that color lol.

I already started buying accessories and modding the car a little bit just for aesthetics. The center cloth arm rest had to go and I bought the leather black touring ones and installed it already. I was also looking at the black sport grille but its different from the 18' Accord version so not sure if I can install myself or would have to go to dealer or something. averaging about 44mpg in the first 1000 miles and hope to get better later once its not as hot and break in period is over.

Hey Data14! I also have an Aegean Blue EX! I am very interested in what you did to the armrest. I love the black interior compared with the ivory but I am annoyed by the fabric on the armrest getting dirty already and was thinking about Scotch-Guarding it. Can you give me an idea of which parts you needed to change to leather, the approximate cost, and how easy it was? Thanks

Replacing Armrest on front doors

Replacing the armrest on the doors is a little more work. First you have to pop off the front plastic part of the armrest where the window switches are located. This part pops off just like the center console parts, once you have this loose there is one screw that has to be removed.. To remove the fabric covered armrest section you have to pop off the door panel and remove screws. There are 5 screws on the backside of the door panel that hold the armrest on. When I did mine I popped the panel off at the back edge of the door and at the bottom there is no need to remove the door panel completely. This allowed me to get behind the door with small screw drivers and remove the screws then the armrest comes off easily. Put the new armrest in place and put the screws back in.

When you pop the door panel off the plastic connectors that hold the panel on make stay in the door, if they do pry them out and put them back on the door panel and then pop the panel back into place with your hand.

If you search on Youtube there are several videos of how to remove the door panel on 2016-2018 Honda Civic 4 doors sedans that are the same as the 2019 Insight.

Since I have the EX, I do wanna replaced the armrest to leather ones but from the links provided in the older post, the collegehill and hondapartsnetwork links are no longer valid. Has anyone else been successful in finding replacement ivory armrest for touring?
Are you looking for Ivory leather or Black leather? Looks like the part number fits both the 2019 Civic and the 2019 Insight.
- Black leather = 08U89-TXM-110
- Ivory leather = 08U89-TXM-120

This is the page for the part(s) on College Hills Honda site.

There are also "pseudo replacement" options on eBay, which involve pleather covers and double-sided tape. The finished product doesn't look too bad, so it just depends on what you prefer.

The CH armrest is the one with the illumination kit. Wondering if anyone sells the plain one for ivory interior.

The illumination and armrest are sold separately. On the link page, you'll notice "related products" listed on the right side, with separate prices for illumination kits that is over/above the armrest. The armrest part numbers listed in prior post are same ones used for prior replacements listed in the forum.

I thought the CH site said the illumination kit was required per the description:

"The armrest provides comfort for both the driver and passenger while adding a stylish flare to the interior. Requires Armrest Illumination Kit (sold separately)."

This is the thread where there was discussion of armrest replacement: https://www.gen3insight.com/forum/250-honda-insight-owners-registry-check-area/140-new-insight-owner.html#post712

Given that the prior links are dead due to site upgrades, would be great if @Data14 and @pflinker could comment further on the "individual pieces" and part numbers they purchased for their replacements.

Hello, answering your beckons! I see you are looking for the White leather interior... Well, I did the black so I can not say anything about that.
As for the parts I got: 83416-TXM-A11ZA and also 83411-TXM-A11ZA. Those were the numbers I got for it, can't really tell as I've thrown away the boxes and my old email does not tell me which is which.
Hope this helps

Thank you Data14! So I guess all the parts from collegehillhonda moved to www.collegehillshondaparts.com. I was able to locate this page https://www.collegehillshondaparts.com/v-2019-honda-insight--tourin--variable/interior-bumper--console but its so hard to browse without any pictures. I'm guessing if I also wanted the center part of the armrest it'd be part# 83441-TXM-A01ZA?

Was investigating parts for my own center console upgrade and was printed out a schematic [PDF 1.05MB] of the entire thing - sharing it with everyone so there's clarity on the exact part numbers and pricing.

Center Console Leather Pieces (3) :
Center - $62.12 - 83441-TXM-A01Z A/B (Deep Black/Platinum Gray)
Left - $31.90 - 83416-TXM-A11Z A/B
Right - $31.90 - 83411-TXM-A11Z A/B
Total - $125.92

On a side note, WOW are those dividers (14) hilariously expensive. Somebody must've put on a patent for that design or something cause that's ridiculous!
