I noticed on my Insight that the speedometer goes up to 160 mph. (See photo of my speedometer HERE.) Most basic cars show up to 120 mph I think. Two questions. Why does the Insight show up to 160 mph? And whether a basic car shows 120 or 160 mph, does it mean that the car can potentially go that fast? I don't plan on testing it out. :) I'm just curious.

The only way it will go that fast is if you drive it off of a very high cliff. The published top speed is 120mph.

Its just the gauge that they've chosen to use. Usually cars that have a speedometer that goes up to 160, are at the most capable of 140 stock.
