Appreciate the tutorials on this Romeo. Glad to hear that disabling the ANC is relatively simple. Did you replace the whole head unit in your Insight or did you have to rewire for the new speaker setup?

I appreciate you taking the time to show this to us too. What kind of speaker setup did you go with? I have the Touring model and even so I'm not that enamored with the sound system.

Still using the stock head unit, because its a Hybrid you can't just switch out to some aftermarket because out Infotainment reads allot of what the ECU reads and calculate MPG, The only thing I did was swapping out the stock speakers with Kicker 6.5 inch speakers and adding some tweeters which I just tab into the stock speaker wiring.

Did the same thing for the Subwoofer tab into factory wiring for power and speakers wires, not running a powerful sub so factory power supply is good enough.

I end up switching out with Kickers 6.5 inch don't get the 6 3/4 as the size from Civic it won't fit... I got this from Best Buy KICKER - CS Series 6-1/2" 2-Way Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cones (Pair) - Black Model:43CSC654 SKU:5678403, also added Power Accoustics tweeters both front and rear also added Bazooka 10 inch subwoofer with build in amp, now it sounds 10 times better now with what I have done over the stock speakers.

Tweeters

Anybody replaced the tweeters? I recently replaced my center 3.5” speaker on my truck with 2 JL tweeters and it really cleaned up the sound. I am wondering if replacing the tweeters on the Insight would improve the sound quality.

Question for those who have disabled the Noise Cancellation Module so they could boost the sound system. I was considering it but I wanted to know how much louder is the cabin noise when you are not drowning it out with music? I'm worried it's going to be very noisy when I driving with music off/phone/or with passenger.

This is a bane in my existence. It can make a difference but I'm not completely convinced either way yet. Please check out my videos on you tube for my thoughts on this. Right now I'm running without the anc and I'm not sure I'm happy. It seems it takes the anc some time to adapt before I notice a difference when I plug it back in so it takes some time for me to evaluate how it responds. This could be my imagination but I'm going to plug it back in after my sound system appointment on Monday and drive Ruby a bit more to do another evaluation.

I wonder how it accomplishes this. It's awesome that it seems to be adaptive. I wonder if it tells the system to boost output in detected frequencies, increases white noise, or uses half waves to actually "cancel" out the sound frequencies it wants to "drown out"
