Hello, not sure if I just noticed or if the problem just appeared, but the inside roof is rattling when going on imperfect roads (so anywhere in MA). It stops when I push up with my hand a little behind the sunroof.

I inspected the inside of the sunroof for leaves and whatnot with no luck. This also happens on my wife's 7 year old Ford but it really shouldn't on a new vehicle...

There are some comments on moon roof rattle in the CivicX forum as well, and there are a few 'flavors.' One post there mentions that slight margin/movement between glass and roof can be triggered by the chassis flexing and/or air turbulence pushing/pulling against the glass panel (otherwise chassis flex would break the glass).

Does the sound occur when moon roof is both open and closed? Which 'sound' describes your situation best?
- buzzing/squeaking while driving on well-paved roads and/or seal rubbing against car frame - https://www.civicx.com/threads/squeaking-moonroof.33421/
- ticking/popping sound where metal frame touches plastic part - https://www.civicx.com/threads/vibrating-ticking-sound-in-sunroof-area.24254/
- shade rattling from the ends of sliding track - https://www.civicx.com/threads/rattle-near-sunroof.6570/

Some 'fixes' listed on CivicX:
- dealer replaced moon roof structure assembly & sun shade assembly, then felted all contact points - https://www.civicx.com/threads/2017-civic-coupe-touring-roof-rattle.17125/#post-383566
- silicone lube on gasket seal and metal track while in 'vent' position - https://www.civicx.com/threads/squeaking-moonroof.33421/#post-560280
- unclipped headliner around sunroof and inserted collapsible foam where plastic clips rest against metal frame - https://www.civicx.com/threads/popp...dliner-area-over-bumps-dips.6878/#post-132748
- weatherstripping tape where rails rest & move liner back/forth to fit better on rails - https://www.civicx.com/threads/sunroof-rattle-on-si.14560/

Thank you. It's hard to describe, but I'd say the ticking sound. It's similar to the sound of removing a dust-absorber that you apply to your phone's screen before putting a screen protector. Kind of sticky/ high-pitch. I'd bring it to the dealer if it still bothers me for a few weeks...

Hi, not sure if you’re still having this problem, but I was experiencing it with my 2019 Insight Touring as well. I had it fixed at the dealership yesterday. There was some plastic in the headliner hitting the sunroof bracket. They “used some foam tape on plastic bracket, used silicone grease in sunroof cover slides.” It took care of the problem, and I am again thoroughly enjoying riding around with an open roof!

Foam tape and Honda's are a match made in heaven. Had to use a lot of it to calm rattles in my insight.
I've only seen a-pillar and center vent rattles in other posts. Did you have anything over and above those?

Holy crap! Built on a Monday or Friday? Even seatbelts? Wow!
The interior of my Insight seems perfect with no rattles or odd fit & finish problems. The exterior does have some gaps and small alignment problems like fuel door(fixed), trunk, and hood area. So it was probably built on a Wednesday but not as good as one built on a Tuesday. :ROFLMAO:

Mostly due to the stereo I installed and running the original "premium stereo" at high volumes. My back deck rattled like a drunk snake when I played music.
