Pop culture site "The Things" published their picks for "20 Safe New Cars/SUVs under $25k for Teens" - and the Honda Insight EX made the list. Price comparison is based on MSRP, before taxes/fees and destination charge.

Many of their top 25 don't get IIHS top safety pick ratings unless you buy pricey trim levels or tech options packages that may be harder to find on dealers lots and may put some over the $25K threshold as well. They don't even say how they made the list. I'm partial to this list that is completely objective and helps more if you aren't buying your teen a new car...
