I was able to fit a 55" TV thru the Insight's Trunk

Hope this helps someone plan that next TV purchase and wondering if the Insight's trunk is big enough.

While driving home with ACC, my dashcam caught these 2 drivers merging into the same lane, and almost collided. :surprise: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FvQn4UmXLmMXoEPMTXu7bah8p3rJ9Dda/view

Why is keep right, pass left so difficult for people to understand? In NJ, we have a term - Left Lane Dick

2 months ago I was stuck behind an Accord doing the same on a 2 lane highway. I had to wait until an opportunity opened up on the right lane and engaged sport mode to pass him before the next car on the right lane blocked me in again.

I think what happened last night was the SUV trying to pass the left lane camper and the sedan merging into the same lane had poor side mirror blind spot positioning (lots of people do not know how to adjust side mirrors properly).

I like using this Civic reference for Insight trunk dimensions - https://www.civicx.com/threads/2018-civic-sedan-trunk-measurements-and-dimensions.27558/
A = 54.5” - trunk tub at widest point
B = 40.0” - trunk between wheel wells
C = 23.5” - wide carpet piece at flat bottom of hole behind rear seats
D = 35.0” - hole between trunk and back seats at widest
E = 36.0” - depth of trunk, plastic protector to start of hole
F = 41.5” - maximum depth of trunk, plastic protector to seat base
G = 22.0” - trunk interior height, carpet to rubber seal of lid
H = 14.5” - height of hole behind rear seats

Comparing dimensions, it looks like it fit with a couple (1.6") to spare:
Samsung 55" UHD TV = 55.4" W x 33.4" H x 6.6" D (shipping size)

Wifey'sInsight had related success fitting a queen bedframe into the trunk space (with more maneuvering) :) - https://www.gen3insight.com/forum/16100-post46.html

I wish that game of Tetris on no one, when we moved, I rented a U-haul. So much easier than trying that again.

You're right it did have a tiny bit left to spare. I needed that spare room to maneuver it though so I felt like I lucked out.
