We're looking at getting 2019 Insight.

We'd like the Cosmic Blue color, especially to get the lighter interior fabric. But how close are the Honda website exterior colors to the colors in real life?

Isn't as black interior usually much hotter, especially on summer days? (Albeit classier looking!)

What color Insight did you buy?

I know that the ancient Romans were right:

De gustibus non est disputandum.​

Still, it's fascinating question of perception and taste.

We have a white one. I liked the Cosmic Blue too, but when we saw them both in person the black interior sold us on the white. Ours is the Touring though, so it’s leather vs fabric.

I have the Cosmic Blue and that's part of why we bought it. The color is great, especially up close. And we like the light interior. You should really check it out in person as the color on the site is close but not exact. You can somewhat get an idea on YouTube videos, as many of the reviewers seem to have been given the Cosmic Blue to review.

I have the White Orchid Pearl. I was hoping for Aegean Blue but considering Im either in the car and can only see the color from the side mirrors or it is parked where i cant see it anyway, settled for white.

I didnt like Cosmic Blue personally because it looked almost black unless you are in the sun.

Same here for both blues. My dealer didn’t have any other than white at the time and other dealers added couldn’t come close to my dealers price. Personally I love the white orchid pearl. It is not just plain white like other cars. Hard to explain but in person especially in the sun - it’s so beautiful.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll do some looking at the video reviews. I am concerned that it's nearly black, though.

I wonder if there is some other Honda model that has a similar color. I haven't found a Cosmic Blue in person, but maybe if there's an Accord or Civic with a similar color, I could look at it before putting in a special order — if they'll even do That!

We like our Cosmic Blue with the exception that it is so dark that, like black, you find yourself constantly washing it.

A question for people about the Crimson Pearl.

How bright is it?

If the Cosmic Blue is closer to black, the Crimson could be an option for us as long as it's not too sportscar red!

Here, too, are there other Hondas that have similar colors, so that we could find a car with a similar color in the Real World to look at? The only Insights near us seem to be the White Orchid ones.

Most of the Insight's exterior colors (Cosmic Blue, Crystal Black, Aegean Blue, Lunar Silver, Modern Steel) are the same as those on the current Civic. White Orchid Pearl was offered on the 2018 Civic, but has been replaced by Platinum White for the 2019 Civic. Of the remaining Insight exterior colors, the Clarity offers Crimson Pearl.

Net, if you're looking for a sense of true colors, the Civic exteriors should give you a sense for most Insight colors (except white and red), and the Clarity has the crimson.

Was wondering... are you still waiting on delivery of your pre-ordered Insight? Any end in sight for your long wait?

Modern Steel Metallic exterior, Black Mocha interior. I found that pictures online of the black mocha interior were not always true to the actual colors in person. Seems the fabric doesn't show accurately in most photos due to the nature of the mocha pattern. See it in person to determine if you like it. I wanted some variety with the interior colors and the mocha (both on the seats and on the dash) does a nice job of complementing the rest of the black interior in my opinion.

We ended up with the Crimson Pearl (garnet really) and it's a wonderfully deep metallic color, that is on the darker side, but glistens brightly in sunlight.

Up close, one can see the shimmery, metallic flecked paint. It's quite striking, actually. It's also a welcome change from our prior silver color.

Of course, now that we've gotten it, we're spotting similarly colored cars on the road everywhere -- although they are usually much redder and brighter and not to our liking!

The Ivory inside is quite good looking, too.

I'm surprise Honda didn't charge extra for the white pearl color like Toyota does for the Prius/Corolla Hybrid. From my sighting reports and looking at the forum garage... White is the most popular color.

I think you *** owners will pay more if/when body repair is needed. The 3-layer paint increases the cost, so it'll be extra money one way or another.

Yep, that's why I hope I don't get into an accident or one where I'm at fault... Good reason to have dashcams.
