I also had to try the download/install twice. The first time it said it was up to date. I shutoff the ignition and started it up again between attempts. That's weird that more than one of us has had to this twice for it to find it.

I had the same experience!. I tried late yesterday afternoon and it said everything was up to date. Went out early this morning and the update downloaded and installed properly!

Guess it's just taking a little longer to roll out to your vehicles. I figure mine showed up since I drove 2 hours that day. I was very impressed how it downloaded in the background without bothering me and told me it was there when I shut the vehicle off. Thank goodness the damn system didn't crash, like it usually does, while I was driving.

Good thing I have a wireless router in my garage. When connected to my house router, I got an error that the signal wasn't strong enough. Changed to the garage, and, viola! - success! Doesn't everyone have a router and complete PC setup in their garage?

I hope it doesn't take another 2 years before we see the next update from Honda. 🤞
My gut says this update came out because it was also loaded onto the 2021 Insight model year, which seems to be the mid-cycle refresh. (Though with the plant shutting down around same time as launch, I have yet to see any 2021 Insight inventory nearby...) It might very well be another 2 model years before another update, unless something is really, really wonky after the updates.

I can’t get this update to install. Keeps saying system is already up to date. Have tried over WiFi and on Honda link. Have tried a factory reset. Also just went for a 30 minute drive and nothing.
Updates can also be installed via USB (OM19 pg 282-283) or wirelessly (OM19 pg 278-281).

Before giving up on wireless update, double-check that you're set up for automatic download via infotainment screen (HOME --> System Updates --> Settings --> Auto Download --> Yes):

I think the 2022 Honda Insight will be the mid-gen refresh. Honda usually does some exterior design changes with mid-gen refreshes (ex: 2019 Civic, 2020 CR-V). Also it appears that Honda has been providing new software builds from the factory even though we went without a new update for 2 years. @Zilatuz's Insight originally had build 18AE-2047-001 while mine was 18AE-1945-001.

It's not listed as an enhancement... but has anyone noticed whether there are any other "extra" enhancements present... like whether a digital speedometer "fix" was implemented so MPH (vs KPH) shows for US models?
I haven't driven my Insight since I updated it but I will check the digital speedometer when I head out later.

I downloaded the update via wireless, but it's now stuck on the install screen. I've driven it for a bit, I've left it parked, and I've restarted it. I'm out of ideas. I cant get to the home screen either to try the USB method. I have a 2020 EX. Am I going to have to go to the dealer?

The install should be really quick compared to the download and prep stage. Mine took 1-2 minutes and @Verdier's video show his Insight did it even faster.

Yeah, you would need to take it to the dealership if the update bricked your infotainment system.
