2019 Touring in Oregon

Bought the last 2019 Insight Touring from Swickard Honda in Gladstone, OR on Jan. 1. Price was $25,100, plus taxes and tags. Ended up just under $26k out the door.

My wife and I traded our 2019 Insight touring for a brand new 2020 Insight touring last night. Got it for $25,600 including Insight OEM all weather mats, Insight trunk mat and wheel well/Fender protective moldings. This was one of their last 2020 models. We didn’t want a 2021 because of two reasons: My wife absolutely loves the right turn camera, and, she also loves the crimson pearl color. Our car was just built in February!

I'm confused... You traded a 2019 Insight Touring for a 2020 Insight Touring? There wasn't any changes with the Insight between 2019 - 2020. o_O

I knew that question was coming :)
We had some paint damage caused by a falling tree branch that left deep scratches. I didn’t want to mess with a body shop and a respray that possibly wouldn’t match.

For only $1,500 more than the cost to repair, I was able to trade! My local dealer gave me an awesome price on my trade-in.

The COVID-19 has affected my dealership’s car sales so severely that they were doing all they could to make this deal work.

They will have their PDR guy fix and airbrush the scratches. That was not something I would’ve been satisfied with.

How do you know when the car was built?

I just bought my 2020 Touring at the beginning of March and I also paid $25,600 for it. I only got the carpeted floor mats with mine though. Mine is also in Crimson.

Congrats on your purchase and an awesome price! There is a sticker inside the drivers door jam. It will give the month and year of manufacture.

Thanks. It looks like mine was also built in February. I did not know about the 2021 when I bought mine. I would have liked to have BSM but I really wanted the Crimson so I would have gone for a 2020 anyway. I really like the interior too. I'm just hoping it won't be too difficult to keep clean.

My 2020 had 708 miles!! Seems the sales manager "drove it for two days"..Whatever. It had been on the lot for 11 months, so I can excuse a few miles...but not 700! I was able to leverage this to my advantage when we "renegotiated" the price. I had negotiated the OTD price 4 days prior to driving 2 hours to the stealership. I never asked about mileage, they never offered it up, and the online pics only had stock photos of the dash, ODO.
Needless to say, I was quite upset with the mileage and they knew it. Overall, a horrible dealer experience, with the normal stuff, back and forth with sales, finance and the hard extended warranty upsale. Only good news was a final OTD price of$26,000 flat.
Now to enjoy the car.

I had similar experience when shopping in late 2018 for a 2019 Insight EX. I negotiated the price online and was ready to purchase, but just before going in to sign, asked about the mileage and was told it had ~700 miles and scratches on the rear bumper. I did NOT consider that a new car, but technically it met 'legal' definition of not having a previous sale or title recorded. That dealer offered a per-mile discount for the mileage which amounted to $500, but it wasn't enough. I took the negotiated price (including mileage discount) to another dealer and ended up with a fresh-off-the-truck Insight with 12 miles. Worth it for me as someone who owns cars "for life" to know all the miles on the car are mine.

Well, the car was flawless after they detailed it. It was not even clean when I showed up (I know), but I did get what I thought was a great price. I have seen lower on here, but I was worn down by the process. Dealers are good at what they do.

Actually, 26k OTD is among the lowest price mentioned for the Touring trim.... so congrats! And it looks like NC sales tax on cars is 3%, which would've been included in your listed OTD price. Some of the other 'lower' prices are before taxes/fees are added...
