Any one noticed any new software updates?? If not we can leave this discussion open for future and any one who finds the update can post here and let others know.
I have the same problem. I think the update is being rolled out via vin. i tried modifying the file created via the usb method by changing the vin slightly, it it said update available. I couldn’t install the update that downloaded though, I guess because of said file modification.I have a 2019 Touring Insight running Audio System 18AE-1945-001. wifi update says I am up to date. usb update says the same thing. I am definitely connected to home wifi and using a freshly FAT32 formatted 12GB usb stick. Probably not a big deal. The new update doesn't/t look that significant. But frustrating that I can't seem to get the update following the directions.
I opened the file in a text editor and came to the same conclusion. Im glad that you tested the theory. Now I don’t have to. I would guess that rolling it out by Vin number is just a poor man’s way of load balancing so everybody doesn’t download it on the same day.I have the same problem. I'm in the same boat as you, still no update available to me via wireless or USB. I'm curious though, when you opened the .json file on your USB drive, does yours also identify as "Honda","model": "18 Accord Display Audio"?I opened the file in a text editor and came to the same conclusion. The Gen3 Insight started with the same software as the 10th Gen Honda Accord per post #6 of this thread. The Accord came out first (April 2018) before the Insight (June 2018), so it seems like the naming was left as "Accord."I'm in the same boat as you, still no update available to me via wireless or USB. If they do a multi-phase roll out by VIN they can prevent a bad update from affecting everyone at once. We already have one person reporting that the update froze on the installation phase and made his infotainment system unusable. The new build has froze on me at the disclaimer warning prompt screen a few days ago when I turned on my car. Had to wait like a minute for the system to auto-reboot itself.I opened the file in a text editor and came to the same conclusion. Im glad that you tested the theory. Now I don’t have to. The 10th gen Accord and 3rd gen Insight share similar infotainment software builds. They're on 18AA-2071-001 while we're on 18AE-2071-001. The patch notes were the same for both cars.I'm in the same boat as you, still no update available to me via wireless or USB. Hi I have a 2020 Insight EX and I had an update a couple weeks ago. I live in a condo so I am parked too far for WiFi, but I have the Honda Link app on my iPhone and the update transferred from the app on my iPhone via Bluetooth. I was expecting to have to make my phone a hotspot to transfer it via WiFi but I didn’t have to. The app isn’t great it only gives me the odometer reading on my car, the range in miles in gas left on the tank and a bar display of the gas, but it’s obviously needed for software infotainment updates. My car infotainment did display there was an update available but that may have come from the iPhone app. Hope that helps!Any one noticed any new software updates?? Download the HondaLink app on your phone. I have an iPhone but I assume Android phones will work also. Add your car to app with the Vin #. Once it is connected and you can see your odometer reading, miles on your tank, etc. you should be able to load the infotainment update from your phone to your car via Bluetooth. The Gen3 Insight started with the same software as the 10th Gen Honda Accord per post #6 of this thread. Might be VIN related (sequential deployment from Honda?) or country release-date related (@kernelpaniqc in Canada also mentioned issue in post #27). If wifi option isn't working, the remaining options are USB update or HondaLink update.Any ideas .....
I am connected to my home wifi and when I try to UPDATE it states that I am currently up to date.
I am in Canada and have an 2019 EX
My only other option is to load it to a flash stick and manually load it.
They just told me it’s not available for my VIN. They couldn’t give any other specifics. For those in the US and haven't got the update. Maybe Honda's In-Car Technology Support (888) 528-7876 can provide an answer?
It's possible because the Insight has 2 wifi networks saved from the factory that all dealerships have broadcasting.I didn't even know about this, but the notice started showing up after I had my first scheduled maintenance done at the dealer. So, apparently the car was able to hook up to their WiFi while it was getting an oil change and tire rotation. I'll have to see if I can get it to hook up to my house WiFi. I expect it to be a longshot, but can't hurt to try.
I got the same response. They just told me it’s not available for my VIN. They couldn’t give any other specifics.
