D2 lowering springs / side skirt + front lip

I just received my D2 Lowering Springs 2.0”F/2.0”R for Honda Accord 2018-2020 (hopefully those fit)

also just got a side skirt and front lip so i am also hoping everything fits. Im so excited. I asked to get my hood, roof, and trunk wrapped a matte black 😬

You must live in an ultra-flat area. Here in NJ, that would get bottomed-out/beat-up within a couple miles! The front lip wouldn't survive backing out of my driveway. Lowering is not an option here.

Dang 😬 I live in CA. I went on a road trip to Vermont over the summer and saw a lil of how the east coast roads are so I know what you mean. 😣 We just have to worry about potholes and dusty roads

Sorry, I rarely log in. No problems with the drop so far. I do have a little popping noise from my passenger side from what I thought was the spring stiffness. It could possibly be because of the fact that there was a little gap of rubber that i left instead of pushing the spring all the way to the end. I haven’t had time to take off the coilover again, but I will keep you updated when I do. It only pops when i am at a complete turn.

Hey,

Thanks everyone for sharing information contained in this thread.

I have a few questions about lowering my new Insight. So I'm looking at acquiring the Enkei RPF1 17x9 +45 for my wheels and 235/45R17 for my tires. I looked at your specs and I think I can run this fitment without any problems. I just wanted to know if most lowering springs for the Honda Civic +16 will match our vehicles. I'm looking for a higher spring rate than what the D2/TruHart offer, more of less of what the Swift springs offer, about 6k front and rear.

Thanks in advance,
NWZE4

Welcome to the forum. Do you own an LX/EX (16" OEM tire) or Touring (17" OEM tire)?

235/45 R17 sounds like it might be tubby for the space. An example of 235/40 R18 (from a Civic SI) on an Insight LX are posted here by @Kimberstanko for quick visual. And some upsize/downsize range recommendations from Tire Rack are posted in the following thread for reference/comparison - Alternate tire sizes for Honda Insight LX/EX/Touring

Technically, the Insight has different spring part numbers from the GenX Civic, but for those who have done it, parts for the GenX Civic seem to fit on the Insight per example above from @JdmZE4, and even parts from a GenX Accord per example above from @ChrisCabb99.

Thanks for the information, it helped me decided on going a different route after researching a bit more. I’ve decided to go with the Konig Rennform 18x8 et45 w/ 225/40ZR18 Continental DWS06. This would put me at about 40Lb on each corner, which is a minimal saving on weight from the EX wheel/tire setup but the transfer of weight to the exterior might negatively affect my MPG.

I also looked into Eibach Sportlines for the 16+ Civic Sedan with a less aggressive drop then the two others on D2 springs. With the reduction in tire height and the drop I think it will be clean and safe fitment.

Here are two picture of the same wheels on a 16+ Civic Sedan.

I think the drop on the Sportlines are 1.0F/1.3R, so I should be able to clear without any issues.

Just got my Insight back, really love the results of the D2 Springs!

Send me a message if you want any closer shots for clearance and wheel gap!

Looks super good! Did you use D2 springs from a Civic or an Accord to lower your insight? I have some springs I’m pulling off my hatch that I’m contemplating on throwing on my girlfriend’s Insight since I’m getting coils and I’m just doing research to see fitment before wrenching away. Thanks!
